Would you like to go to a country with incredible nature, few turists and lots of things to experience? Then you should go to Honduras. Here it is easy and inexpensive to travel around, private bus companies drive between the cities. Something extra for everyone, irrespective of if you are a backpacker or just want to experience something totally different.

Geography
Honduras is the third largest country in Central America. At least 75% of the country is hilly. In the north there is a long coastal area against the bay of Honduras and the Caribbean Sea. In the south part there is a small coast against the Pacific.

Climate
In the mountains the climate is tempered and in the low areas there is a subtropical climate.

Tegucigalpa.

7,8  million inhabitants.

The official language is Spanish.

Lempira(HNL) Credit card is generally accepted.

Opening hours
Business hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am to noon and 2 to 4.30 or 5pm, and sometimes from 9am to noon on Saturdays. Government offices work Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm, often with an hour’s break for lunch. Government offices, post offices and many other businesses close on national holidays and the first Monday after an election. One of the largest is Carnaval in La Ceiba, more correctly known as La Feria de San Isidro. Held during the week leading up to the third Saturday in May, the festivities culminate in a street parade through the centre of the city, followed by performances of live music on sound stages until the early morning
