8 days in Suriname

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Suriname! You will be picked up by shuttle from the airport to Paramaribo Zanderij Hotel Krasnapolsky in Paramaribo.

Day 2: Transfer to Bergendal Eco & Cultural River Resort which is situated about 85km from Paramaribo along the Suriname River and tropical nature. There are lots of activities in and around the area., Why not put on your walking boots and get acquainted with the area and see the beautiful nature that embraces the country, through a guided hiking tour for 1 ½ hours. After the tour, lunch is offered. End your day with a quiet boat ride.
After these activities, enjoy a delicious dinner buffet at the hotel.

Day 3: I hope you have rested you up enough during the night, for there are many activities to try. For example, you can try a mountain bike tour. Helmet, bike, drink and a light lunch included. Along the tour you will see the lake at Brokopondo, Afobakadam, Villages Victoria and Balingsula. After 3-4 hours we’re back at the hotel. Do not forget to stretch!
In the afternoon you will have free time to spend as you wish!

Day 4: New day, new opportunities. Today we propose you to participate in a guided expedition where you go deeper into the exotic jungle of Suriname. You are picked up by a boat that takes you on towards a path from which you begin a 4 hour hike. Water included. Lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon you can choose an activity where you get a fantastic view over the landscape when we get up on high platforms and go on a canopy tour along the exotic trees, in the best Tarzan style.

Day 5: This day can be devoted to what is outside Bergendal Resort and a recommendation is to see the ruins of the Jewish Synagogue, built during the 1700s and is the oldest synagogue in South America. There is much to see because it’s so big and lots of history to it. The tour includes entrance and lunch box. Then we can take us further by boat to transmigration village Nyun Lomb and meet local people and see the primary school in the village and the local bakery.

Day 6: Last day at Bergendal Eco-travel and what does not fit better than to unwind with a kayak trip to discover the beautiful nature around Mama Gulf. Get a picnic table and barbeque set with food. At sunset you can be part of a Sunset Tour with boat trip and guide. Here you will enjoy the last night in a stunningly beautiful place with beautiful music in the background and a cold soda or beer in hand.

Day 7: Transfer back to Paramaribo and the Hotel Krasnapolsky. The rest of the day in Paramaribo is free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport. Have a nice journey home!

As one of the oldest and best known companies in the service industry was established Hotel Krasnapolsky in 1973 and became a famous landmark in Paramaribos city. Constantly growing and with several shops on the ground plane’s shopping arcade, the hotel is desired by the dynamic inner-city crowd. Krasnapolsky offers comfort and good service.

Bergendal Eco & Cultural River Resort
Experience a spectacular rainforest scenery with a rich variety of activities. This resort is located 85 km from Paramaribo and focuses on eco-friendly accommodation and activities. The resort is working hard to meet their responsibilities and maintain and have an ecologically sustainable system for the exotic biodiversity inside and outside the resort.
There are different types of accommodations to choose from, Lodge A, B and C.
